Marsha M. Lang was born in Salt Lake City and throughout her life, has loved the mountains
Ms. Lang achieved a BS in Mathematics from the University of Utah and worked for Sperry Univac as it was known some years ago. In her capacity as a member of technical support for world-wide marketing, she participated in the early development of software for computer-assisted EKG analysis. She helped install the system in a hospital complex serving patients throughout Missouri and the Midwest. Ms. Lang was asked to sit on the US Government’s Committee on the Use of Computers in Medicine. Ms. Lang traveled extensively in the US and Canada in her capacity to give technical support to Worldwide Marketing. She even resided abroad with members from this group who were hired to update computer applications and system software for a British computer company.
Ms. Lang received her M.S. Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Utah followed by her entry into the University of Utah School of Law. After graduating from law school in 1986, she took a position as in-house Counsel for the Dow Chemical Company in Midland Michigan in the Patent and Trademark Departments. In 1993, Ms. Lang returned to Utah. She started building a practice in family law, having lost her desire to practice intellectual property law.
By way of contrast, family law has provided a way to improve people’s lives, especially children’s lives.
For the last twenty-three years, Ms. Lang, especially through her work in child custody, has watched as family law became much more centered around the best interests of the children. Ms. Lang has traveled extensively throughout Utah in her capacity as a sole practitioner and offers seasoned experience in matters of Custody, Divorce, Protective Orders and adoption. When Ms. Lang is not in Salt Lake City, she resides in the mountains east of Mt. Pleasant in San Pete County and has a new emphasis on serving the rural populations in San Pete County, and in Duchesne and Vernal. She remains as an advocate for persons in Family Law disputes and has added mediation as a skill to be applied to practice in the rural communities south of Provo, Utah.
